Amazing Animals in Art

For the final Amazing Animals in Art life-long learning series, we had the extra special treat of having reproductions of the piece that is at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts courtesy of resident Mary Alice.  The two sculptures were from the Edo people of Nigeria, Africa.  The original lost wax bronze sculpture at the MIA is called Leopard Water Pitcher. It is from the Benin Kingdom and used by their King, the Oba in the 18th Century.
