Jones-Harrison News

With grateful hearts, we thank Nirmala Rajesekar for leading a wonderfully informative, moving and beautiful residency in Carnatic Classical Indian music at Jones-Harrison Residence.  We also thank Shrini Vasan and Marcus Wise for their insights, stories and rhythmic accompaniment.  Our residents thoroughly enjoyed this new and to many exotic music that became familiar and memorable to so many.  Nirmala made many friends, but of course, a special bond with Prakash, who was the inspiration for the residency.  As a parting present, Prakash served tea and treats for Nirmala.  Many thanks to Nirmala and all the players, COMPAS for their help in coordinating the residency and the Metro Regional Arts Council for their generous grant that made this fascinating residency possible.
