Covid-19 Update 5-7-2020

May 7, 2020
Dear Family Members and Friends,
This is National Nurses Week! Thank you to all our friends and family that work in the nursing field for your exceptional service. We are thankful for the nursing staff we have at Jones-Harrison and the pride, care, and compassion they put into helping our residents.
You have supported us with donations of PPE, food, and prayers; now we ask that if you know of someone who has the ability to help with caregiving and has experience in health care to please send them to the website below. LeadingAge of MN is working to help match people who can help serve with senior providers such as us. These are paid positions with
Jones-Harrison.
CARING CAREERS START HERE LAUNCHES LTC RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN
CaringCareersStartHere has launched a new campaign to recruit job seekers on behalf of senior care providers in Minnesota. The website features short explanations of common positions, such as caregiving, culinary, and housekeeping, and allows the job seeker to fill out a survey indicating their interest and location. LeadingAge MN and Care Providers of MN will receive a daily list of people interested in jobs.
Today, we are sharing our total Covid-19 numbers for the whole campus as many of you have requested. We will continue to update the Jones-Harrison website whenever we have a positive test result. We will also provide updates on Mondays and Thursdays or as needed.
We will start with the Care Center.
Total tested: 37   Total positive: 18  (9 of them passed)
Total negative: 16  Total pending: 3
Assisted Living:
Total tested: 8   Total positive: 4 (one has passed)
Total negative: 2  Total pending: 2
Staff:
Total tested: 36        Total positive: 14       Total negative: 19
Tests pending: 3
We continue to work under the direction of the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) whose recommendations have changed as of today’s announcement by Governor Walz. The state will now begin more aggressive testing of residents and staff, as the Minnesota Department of Health foresees that it is inevitable and expected that both seniors and caregivers will be impacted by a surge in COVID-19 cases. This is a change from only testing residents and staff with symptoms and we are ready to work with MDH to implement this new guidance.
Thank you again for your continued generosity and support of our Jones-Harrison family. We ask that you “Thank” a nurse today!
Sincerely,
Annette Greely, President/CEO
